Finally, Immigration Minister, Mr. Nicolas Schmitt, announced on Thursday morning that the Iraqis would be heard before the end of this year, and all cases will be examined and answered by spring 2012. All Iraqis expressed their satisfaction with new announcement; therefore we decided to end the hunger strike after 21 days.

On behalf of all Iraqis asylum seekers in Luxembourg, we would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the great support received from MP André Hoffmann, Mr. Fischbach, all members of Déi lénk, Clae , and all others orginazations and individuals .

The hunger strike continued while we wait for an answer from the government . though no news had came , our hope in a sulotion increeses , based on the support of many friends and legislation of our demands . Alot of people stopped by to express thier support .
Thanks to all friends for thier support.

The hunger strike continued on the thirteen day.today was quite day , early today we had one of the visitors who came to support us.he informed us about his intention to join us. the idea was welcomed by us. in the evening , some of our Iraqi friands came to show their support. still no news from the minstery regarding our demands.

The hunger strike continued on the twelfth day , we the hunger strikers on behalf of the Iraqi asylum seekers and all other asylum seekers, intending to find a solution to the slow procedures of asylum in Luxembourg, we still did not have an answer from the government but as we gain more support everyday ,we feel stronger .

asylum seekers are facing a delay of over than one year for both  interviews and examining the cases. We are asking for a time frame and we hope this time frame will be reasonable.

Immigration minister Nicolas Schmit gave us no solution , and excused the delay for the lack of staff . the same excuse ,he provided on the 19th of October 2010 [see http://hello.news352.lu/index.php?p=edito&id=78383 ] , but for about one year , the ministry did not solve this problem.

Today the 12th of September, we had a solidarity gathering of many organizations, media, newspapers and individuals who came to support us.

The gathering meant a lot for us and gave us more power to continue our hunger strike, Iraqi asylum seekers and other nationalities also were present to show their support to us and to prove to the government that our demands are the demands of most of asylum seekers in this country.

Also this hunger strike is for all asylum seekers all over the world , we hope that all governments give more attention to the suffering of asylum seekers .

We thank all the people who attended today and also we thank those who support us but could not come today.

During the gathering, we renewed our call for the government to find a quick solution for the delay.

Mr.  Prime Minister, esteemed
Mr. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration
Dear ladies and gentlemen, members of parliament

I Mikail Wilson Iraqi nationality
Present you my request and on behalf of all Iraqi refugees in your country.

We would like to inform you of our hunger strike on 1st September 2011 at 12:00 noon in front of the Prime minister’s office in order to find a solution for the Iraqi refugees in Luxembourg.

For several reasons including:

  1. The delay in interviews for over a year
  2. The delay in responses for over a year and more
  3. Iraqi refugees marginalization leading to depression

Stability is most important to us, because of the life that we have lived in Iraq. Now we are living without international protection and stability for the future of us and our children.

Our hunger strike has for unique objective to unfreeze and accelerate the procedures to solve rapidly our unbearable situation.

With great appreciation and respect,

Mikail Wilson

Mikail Wilson
